Jimmy’s Friends Book
Jimmy's Friends is a board book for kids aged 0-4 years old. It is part of my Capstone Project, which aimed to exercise skills like illustration, copywriting, layout, and design.
Concept
After a lot of study, a board book seemed the best way to go. The idea of giving a name to the frog was thought to extend the book to a line of books that are related by the same design and style, like other collections in the market.
Illustration
The process took weeks to narrow into a style that was consistent with the proper texture. It was eight different animals with multiple versions, seven backgrounds, and four book covers.
Layout Design
Kids are attracted to colors and characters, and the book brings color and animals in colorful backgrounds, with most of the animals being designed with simple shapes and less complex details. The story is short and helps the kid to float through the pages.
